I love this stuff for my hair. One question — after straining it and storing it it has a scoby growing in it. Is that a problem?

    • Andrea Fabry

No, Sandra. You can just strain out the SCOBY as well. Great question!

Thanks Andrea Will do. And my son has stopped by and taken half of my soaps!! I guess it’s time to reorder again lol

I have a few questions regarding The Vinegar of the Four Thieves Herbal Blend and Queen of Hungry Herbal Blend. About the Queen of Hungry the directions say: Your finished product can be diluted with witch hazel extract, rose water, or other herbal water. It doesn’t explain how much witch hazel, rose water or herbal water to use if one wants to dilute it. Will it be as effective if diluted? Regarding the Four Thieves, I have the same questions regarding diluting it. Will it be as effective? What do you dilute it with and how much should be used? Can it be used on ANY surface? Do you have to rinse it off? Thanks much, Hilda PS: I didn’t see where to just send an email not a review but I yet haven’t tried the products. I chose good because it wouldn’t allow me to send without choosing a rating????

    • Andrea Fabry

I find each to be effective when diluted. The Queen of Hungary is actually enhanced if using rose water or witch hazel. I don’t have specifics in the recipe because it’s so individual. I always start with equal parts for each one and go from there. I don’t rinse off the Vinegar of the Four Thieves. It really doesn’t need it when wiped clean. If I can help further you can email me directly at I hope this helps!

When reading the recipe on your “It Takes Time” site for the Queen of Hungary skin toner, it calls for handfuls of each product. If I purchase the Queen of Hungary herbal blend you offer, are the herb amounts equal to what the recipe requires? Would I just put the bagful of what comes into a 1/2 gallon jar and cover with apple cider vinegar up to 2″ from the top? Thank so much for your help. Sorry I only rated the product “good” – I haven’t even tried it yet, but had to choose something.

    • Andrea Fabry

Yes, I measure these the same way and you would use one blend for 1/2 gallon.
